Job Title: Energy Program Manager Job Location: Lexington MA 02420 Onsite Requirements: Experience being advocate for and pursuing energy efficiencies. Experience maintaining building level energy usage and cost data. Budgeting Job Description: The Energy Manager reports directly to the Department Head and is responsible for all aspects of energy related activities within the Department. Utility Management: Serve as program manager for all utility contracts including electric, natural gas, steam, fuel oil and diesel, propane, and water/sewer. Develop procurement strategies for major contracts (electrical) to minimize costs to the Laboratory. Prepare annual estimates for budgeting purposes. Provide quarterly budget reviews and adjustments. Monitor monthly invoices to ensure accuracy. Maintain building level energy usage and cost data. Prepare utilities estimates for facility acquisitions, major renovations, and disposals as needed. Collaborate with groups within FSD as needed Energy Efficiency: Advocate for and pursue opportunities for energy efficiency projects within FSD. Pursue and act as the point of contact for state and utility company rebate programs and procedures. Provide oversight of existing solar agreements and actively pursue opportunities for additional alternative energy arrangements Sustainability: Participate in and act as a subject matter expert for the Laboratory's Carbon Footprint Committee Oversee all Laboratory recycling efforts, including cardboard, paper, single stream, printer cartridges, nitrile rubber gloves, pallets, and pre-consumer food waste. Track recycling performance through verifiable metrics. Plan and coordinate the Laboratory's annual Earth Day program Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field; a master's degree is desirable. 5 years of related experience Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation preferred. A proven self-starter, with strong organization skills and attention to detail, comfortable working with minimal direction Adaptable to changing organizational requirements and priorities and supporting a diverse work force.
