Monitor every phase of the development process to ensure that the design and software adhere to company and external standards. Committed to improve the quality and performance to exceed customer's expectations. They are involved in the entire software development process to ensure quality, this can include processes such as requirements gathering and documentation, source code control, code review, change management, configuration management, release management and testing of software.
Software quality assurance should not be confused with software testing. Must be familiar with software development life cycle and processes at all phases to be effective.
Role & Responsibility
Perform SQA activities on projects
• Participate in software design reviews, testing, configuration management control, problem reporting and resolution, and change control
• Drive adherence to release criteria, performs risk assessments, defines quality and reliability goals, and enables key decisions that affect software quality and reliability
• Audit, monitor, evaluate and report on the software subcontractor activities
• Produce write-ups and estimates for the SQA portion of proposals
• Interface with software engineering, software configuration management, and software process organizations
Job Requirement
• Experience leading and developing software engineering teams in the development of a single product, product function, and/or product improvement/optimization effort.
• Knowledge of SW and HW design flows, product development processes, and validation testing
• Experience in application of statistics and data analysis
• Ability to build strong relationships with other functions of the organization
• Strong technical skills related to capturing requirements, software design, architecture, and construction, test case development and implementation
• Strong capacity for leading change, dealing with ambiguity, and providing creative solutions and influencing multi-discipline teams with data, scientific reasoning, and strong coaching skills
• Basic project management methodologies and tools experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly motivated and passionate about embedded systems
• Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Software, Computer, or similar will also be considered)
• 3-5 years of relevant embedded systems and software development experience
