SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITY: Under the direction of the school principals at Anna Brochhausen , James A. Garfield , and Robert L. Frost , provide support to all staff in the three STEM Elementary Schools for STEM implementation into all subject areas. There will be quarterly professional development opportunities. We are looking for an enthusiastic, engaging, and creative educator who possesses a desire for STEM education and supports the district's STEM vision and mission. WHAT YOU'LL DO: The following outlines what your core duties and responsibilities will be for this position and provides a sample overview of what your day-to-day may look like. Core Duties and Responsibilities 33% of the time spent between Anna Brochhausen , James A. Garfield , and Robert L. Frost Plans, schedules and facilitates teacher meetings focused on best practices in STEM instruction and student achievement Lesson Planning for STEM Implementation Student Data, Student Examples organized for STEM Schools Track STEM School Certification progress 50% of time planning and co-teaching with Staff members in all core subjects Supports IT Needs expressed by staff Bi-Weekly Professional Development and Staff Meeting Collaborate with the ELA and Mathematics Coach Serve on the Site Team for STEM Certification Organizing STEM-Related Activities Family Nights Surveys to students and families Assist in STEM related grant writing process Lead STEM PLCs Work with the Middle School STEM Coach to have a field trip to the Planetarium at AMS Support with Science Lab preparation in classrooms Provide ongoing support of district-wide STEM initiatives Meet with the STEM and PLTW Coordinators to monitor and support STEM implementation Other Duties as Assigned EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in elementary education Or eligible transition to teach program in elementary education Must be deemed Highly Qualified in accordance with the Indiana Department of Education or their last state of employment Minimum of 3-5 years of successful classroom teaching experience and working with teachers Prior PLTW Course instructional Experience in the past 3 years Beyond PBL Training Required Strong organizational and management skills Strong leadership abilities, particularly within a change process Experience in planning and facilitating professional development sessions either as a teacher or presenter High level of expertise regarding the Indiana Academic Standards. Knowledge of the 2023 Indiana Integrated STEM standards.
