Duties You will disassemble and reassemble equipment to make repairs or replace circuit boards, sensors, controllers, encoders, or conveyors. You will install, maintain, repair, modify, and test security alarm systems for facilities. You will troubleshoot electronic systems, components, or devices using research manuals, blueprints, or diagrams to plan method of repair. You will perform analysis on system failures to determine troubleshooting procedures and data corrections. You will use electronic amplifiers, processors, filters, bridges, or other electronic devices to transform electro-acoustical, electro-mechanical, or electro-optical devices into digital signals. You will use test equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, transistor tester, logic comparator, volt-ohm meter, special purpose test set) to install and repair electronic equipment. 1) Utilizing building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineer drawings, and electrical maintenance and repair manuals to plan and lay out the routing of equipment and controls; 2) Determining and installing wiring, conduit, transformers and other electrical devices in the size, type, and arrangement needed for proper and safe operation of electrical alarm systems and equipment. 3) Installing, maintaining, and testing various security alarm systems.
