We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC, Huntsville, AL and Burlington, MA with an additional 36 locations across the U.S. Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Electromagnetic Laboratory Section Lead for the LASSO II contract, supporting the Space Division, at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, FL. This position may require occasional overtime including weekend work depending on tasks. Shift work may be required. JOB DETAILS The ideal candidate is an experienced technical or engineering manager responsible for overseeing the electromagnetics laboratory at the Kennedy Space Center, would have experience in electromagnetic interference testing, effective operations and testing leadership, and operations and maintenance experience with complex electronic test equipment. Knowledge and skills in electromagnetic interference test methods, test automation, and demonstrated strength in leadership and management of test tasks and test teams. This is a fulltime position and work will be performed onsite at the Kennedy Space Center. LOCATION: Kennedy Space Center, Florida JOB STATUS: Fulltime TRAVEL: None REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or other technical discipline. Ten or more years of technical and leadership experience (Engineer V) Twelve or more years of technical and leadership experience (Engineer VI) Current U.S. Citizenship is required. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Excellent communication, presentation and customer interface skills required Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment. Must be able to coordinate and prioritize work between multiple projects or tasks without missing deadlines or sacrificing accuracy. Knowledge of test and measurement laboratories and electromagnetic compatibility/electromagnetic interference (EMC/EMI) testing practices Knowledge of RF measurements and the electromagnetic spectrum Ability to assess and calculate measurement uncertainty for various standard and newly developed test processes Experience and knowledge in administering Safety, Quality, Property requirements and an understanding of financial management and Government/Contractor relations. Knowledge of KSC practices and procedures Must be self-motivated, demonstrate initiative, and be able to work independently or with minimal supervision after initial training. Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage and direct all Electromagnetics Laboratory activities Coordinate technical activities with laboratory engineers and laboratory technicians Act as the technical interface to Government and non-Government customers Perform technical analysis of policies and customer requirements Provide technical support for the development of test plans and analysis, schedules, estimates, budgets, and reports.
