Function: Perform work required in skilled electrical trades. Responsibilities: Perform and/or layout the construction, assembly, installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of any electrical and pneumatic equipment and electrical services throughout the plant and grounds as instructed. This includes major electrical installation and/or equipment changes such as main and unit subs, transformers, bus ducts, control panels, etc. Perform all work consistent with current national, state and local electrical codes. Utilizing electrical schematics, prints, and written instructions, troubleshoot equipment electrical components to determine causes of electrically related machine malfunctions. Make required changes of defective parts to obtain desired operating result. Make sketches or diagrams, working with designers and/or management to develop, construct, and make operational special devices and various electrical equipment. Perform basic electronic work such as troubleshoot equipment using prescribed procedure replacing modules, circuit boards, etc. Perform preventative maintenance and periodic operating checks on assigned equipment. Test and replace thermocouples as required. Operate powered mobile equipment to facilitate movement, placement or repair. Maintain work scheduling, progress and other required records/logs. Use respiratory protection equipment as required. Load/unload trucks, replace lamps, perform cleanup work. Instruct, train, and or direct less experienced tradespersons or helpers as they are assigned. Perform each phase of the operation in full compliance with all company, state, and/or federal safety and environmental regulations. Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of assigned area(s), machines, tools and equipment. Observe company policies at all times. Preferred Education and Requirements: A graduate with an A.A.S degree or Certificate from an accredited electrical trade school program and successfully pass job-related skill assessment tests. 4 Years prior experience in an industrial or equivalent setting Pass visual, hearing, and physical tests and successfully complete Powered Industrial Truck Operator Training course per standard policy. Pass color vision requirements test. Shift pattern will be contingent upon business need at the time of sucessful completion of electrician training program. Electricians who have not reached journeyman status will train under the supervision of a more skilled electrician until they have fully and successfully completed the required training.
