GENERAL INFORMATION: Master Electrician Frederick D. Thomas Building 12 month, Full-time, Permanent 6 am - 2 pm QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed/insured by the State of Delaware Ability to read basic operating instructions blueprints and write reports. Competent in commercial power distribution, motor controls, NEC requirements for 480v/240v/277v, PLC's and ladder logic, VFD's, electrical trouble shooting, the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints; shop mathematics and drafting skills. Demonstrate aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned responsibilities. Demonstrate aptitude to plan total performance responsibilities with minimal supervision from plant operations specialist and/or designee. Ability to work with teachers, children, and other employees with professionalism Must have a valid Delaware driver's license Must have a high school diploma also an Electrical certification Must have commercial electrical experience Must have a Driver's License for operation of State Vehicle GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: Possession of a Delaware Master Electrician license OR possession of a Master Electrician license from another state which meets Delaware license requirements or equivalent requirements as determined by the State Board of Electrical Examiners. Assumes responsibility for installation, maintenance, and repairs in all areas involving electricity in the district. Maintains an up-to-date inventory of all electrical supplies and materials on hand and electrical needs of the entire district. Maintains orderly storage of electrical materials and supplies Works cooperatively with other custodians and HVAC heating motors and troubleshooting any power issues and will be the direct point of contact with anything pertaining to electric responsibilities Be able to assist with snow removal during inclement weather Be able to use scissor lift/boom lifts Must be able to keep all buildings compliant with 3 year district wide inspections Experience in computerized lighting system Be able to trouble shoot HVAC drive motors/Exhaust fans Must be available off the clock hours for emergencies Familiar with School Dude Maintenance /Work Order System Essential Duties and Responsibilities Professional Responsibilities Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to frequently climb, crawl, and kneel. Frequently carry or move objects more than 25 pounds and occasionally move objects of up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee will regularly work indoors and occasionally work outdoors, possibly in adverse weather conditions, in outdoor duties as assigned. Operation of equipment, including, but not limited to perform light maintenance and preventative maintenance checks (i.e. change bulbs, fill fluids, check fluids, change windshield wipers etc.) Abilities Written and Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
