Overview Positions are located at a client site in Orange, TX and the job is scheduled for a 2-month duration working 6 days a week and 12-hour shifts. Turnkey I&E has been in the industry for over 15 years and provides a safe and family environment. We provide electrical, instrumentation, and analytical construction and resources to industry leading manufacturers throughout the United States. We are looking for Non-Licensed and State of Texas License Journeyman Electricians for our upcoming New Construction and Turnaround Projects. As an Electrician you will be required to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, power panel, transformers, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Installation and repairs of aluminum and galvanized conduit, cable tray, grounding, and equipment. Work Environment This job operates in a petrochemical / refinery environment. Exposure to cold working conditions during winter months and hot working conditions during the summer months; exposure to noise, workers must wear protecting hearing equipment or frequently shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level. In an emergency situation, exposure to hazardous chemicals may occur and the use of a respirator is required. All employees are required to be fit tested for the various respirators used as well as the ability to successfully pass a pulmonary function test (PFT). Responsibilities Fabricate and install rigid, aluminum, E.M.T., plasti-bond and P.V.C. conduit Fabricate and install cable tray Must be able to fabricate and install cable tray and conduit supports Must have the ability to install wire and cable by either hand or machine in cable trays Must be able to perform troubleshooting on energized motor controls Can fabricate and install breakers and fuses, cable trays, buss duct, junction boxes, tagging, term, motors, transformers, and light fixtures. Must be able to terminate motors, transformers, distribution panels, stress cones, cable splicing, valves, instruments, and lights. Install and/or repair grounding grids and grounding to equipment or structure Be able to read blueprints and national electric code requirements Knowledgeable in the use of electrical equipment testers including AMP meter and 1000-volt insulation tester Other Duties Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice that are job-related and consistent with business necessity. Qualifications State of Texas Journeyman License (preferred) NCCER Certification - Electrical (preferred) Driver License TWIC card - (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Must be able to pass Basic Plus Ability to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug/alcohol test and applicable background checks Minimum 3 years of journeyman experience Wear Fire Resistant clothing and appropriate PPE Must be able to pass client administered electrical exam Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of the job, this position may be extremely physical at times. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required, and for long periods of time to bend, stoop, walk, climb, squat, reach, kneel, push/pull, stand, sit, hand strength and dexterity. An Electrician will frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds. Must be able to work in confined spaces. Must be able to work at heights and be able to climb ladders and stairways and work off platforms.
