As an Electrician at NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester you will install, test, maintain and repair electrical systems in order to maintain a safe and well-lighted environment. You will inspect and test systems and equipment prior to placing in full operation, diagnose and resolve electrical problems, such as blown fuses, short circuits, loose wires/connection and renew or replace faulty circuits. Additional responsibilities include determining materials needed according to repairs to a wide variety of electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, specifications, sketches, systems and equipment. Requirements High school diploma plus 1 year mechanical or technical school training; must be familiar with NYC electrical and NFPA codes. Either NYC Master Electrician Liscense or Westchester County Electrician License. Must have a thorough knowledge of electrical systems up to 480 volts, hand and power tools, and all supplies and equipment related to electrical wiring, installation, repair and maintenance gained through at least 3 years' experience as an electrician. Must be able to read schematic and parts diagrams. Additionally, requires a high level of physical exertion and demands, such as lifting, climbing ladders, crouching, reaching, bending, kneeling, and stretching.
