Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Supervisor I, this position is responsible for maintenance and repair of facilities involving multiple, complex and/or highly skilled trade specialties in a multi-custody correctional facility. This position's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Completing work in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures. Receiving work assignments from a foreman or other supervisor and perform them independently and in accordance with accepted trade practices. Deciphering new or unusual work orders that are usually accompanied by sketches or blueprints. Work is reviewed through inspection of completed work for quality and compliance with work orders and is further evaluated on the basis of the continued workability of equipment, systems, and fixtures repaired or installed. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits with established working hours of Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm and may require working beyond normal work schedule to meet business need. Note to Current State Employees: The salary grade for this position is NC09 (Salary Range: $38,516 - $67,404). If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. About Anson Correctional Institution: Anson Correctional Institution houses female offenders in close and medium custody housing units and male offenders in a minimum custody unit. Anson CI offers a wide variety of educational, vocational, and training programs for men and women. Correction Enterprises operates the offender packaging operation at Anson, a partnership with Union Supply Direct through the Prison Industry Enhancement Program (PIE).
