Job Description For BQL Quality Department
Main tasks may include:
- Implement Equipment PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) SOP with major lab equipment suppliers
- Work with Apple team/vendors to review and present specifications as planned/prepared by Apple Tools team
- Work with vendors to test and qualify test equipment such as Battery Automatic Testers, Thermal chambers, PPG equipment etc.
- Work with vendors and Apple team/s acting as an Apple nominated Quality representative for Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) & sign-off (approve) FAT/SAT vendor testing per Apple requirements/criteria
- Present daily updates to Apple team on FAT/SAT testing discrepancies between Apple test plan & test environment vs Vendor testing during FAT
- Ensure all deviations from FAT/SAT testing are signed off/approved by Apple internal teams
- Work with X-functional team to support Unit Acceptance Testing (UAT) & help resolve issues (if any)
- Run weekly MIL (major issues list) call/s with Automatic Battery Test manufacturer (ABTM)/Thermal Chamber (TC) (one meeting per week) to receive updates from vendor on resolution for H/W (hardware) and S/W (Software) issues
- Run monthly KPI meetings with ABTM and Thermal Chamber (TC) supplier (one meeting)
- Help Apple internal team/s (users) of equipment to ensure it is implemented correctly
- Uncover any design/process related issues (for vendor equipment) and communicate them clearly to the Apple team/s and vendor(s)
- Work in close cooperation with a cross-functional team of professionals with in BQL and beyond BQL
- Conduct data analysis as needed
Required Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge in electrical engineering fundamentals and principals
- Understanding of software methodologies and basic coding skills (familiar with C, C ,Python etc.)
- Experience working with vendors & be able to hold ground vs vendor personnel pressure while working in vendor factory/lab
- Experience/Understanding of serial bus communication protocols such as I2C, SMBus & assembly language MCU/ECU communication
- Understanding of design and implementation of test systems or other complex apparatus
- Experience working in a production environment with automated test equipment
- Understanding of uncertainty in Ammeters, Voltmeters and Thermometers to determine if a gauge/equipment is fit for purpose
- Effective in performing detailed electrical design reviews
- Hands on experience in working with fixture, tools, and precision instrumentations
- Hands on experience in troubleshooting complex electrical apparatus at the component level
- Knowledgeable in statistical analysis of data and tools for analytics

Education:
BSEE
MSEE Preferred but not required
