We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team in the Construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity to work on multifamily apartment projects that utilize stick frame and wood frame construction methods. The individual will be integral to our team, providing comprehensive assistance in project management, ensuring our projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. From precast parking garages to large-scale residential developments, you will be involved in a diverse range of projects, making this a truly exciting position.
Responsibilities
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be expected to:
1. Assist in planning and coordinating all aspects of the construction process, including hiring contractors and working with engineers, architects, and vendors.
2. Ensure that the projects are completed on time and within budget, making any necessary adjustments along the way to ensure the successful completion of the project.
3. Assist in the management of project documentation and records for the duration of the project.
4. Help in preparing contracts and negotiating revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
5. Aid in the implementation of the company's safety policies and procedures and OSHA compliance.
6. Assist in the preparation of project status reports and ensure project team is kept informed about project progress, risks, and issues that may impact client relations or project delivery.
7. Collaborate with project team members to ensure all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager in the construction industry, specifically with multi-family apartment projects.
2. Proven experience with stick frame and wood frame construction methods.
3. Experience with precast parking garage construction is highly desirable.
4. Strong understanding of construction procedures, material and project management principles.
5. Excellent time management ability and strong organizational skills.
6. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
7. Proficient in using project management software and other relevant computer applications.
8. A bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field is preferred.
