Full job description
Manufacturer of heavy-duty high output alternators for military and other specialty applications. Our headquarters and manufacturing site are located in Evanston, IL. We currently have an opening for an Industrial Machinery Electrical Technician .
Job Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical equipment failures using multimeters and hand tools to identify cause of breakdown and corrective measures
- Perform preventative maintenance on test equipment and production machinery, including replacing batteries, checking wire connections, and inspecting wire harnesses
- Aide tool room personnel on repairing production equipment, including industrial ovens, potting dispensing machine, hydraulic pumps, and pneumatic/hydraulic cylinders
- Maintain and rebuild production tools such as soldering irons, solder pots, and crimping tools
- Remove and replace faulty electrical components such as relays, contactors, proximity sensors, power supplies, and wire connections
- Read blueprints, electrical schematics, and instruction manuals when repairing and analyzing electrical equipment failures
- Fabricate and populate electrical panels and enclosures per specified requirements
- Support rework of manufactured products and assemblies
- Repair wire connections using terminal blocks, crimping, and soldering
