Description: Markon Solutions is creating a team of three engineers to provide Construction Management support to the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua, NY, valued at over $500M. The team will support construction and renovation at the Outpatient Clinic, Community Living Center, and Domiciliary. Members of the team will be responsible for: Assisting the Senior Resident Engineer and Resident Engineer staff in monitoring and inspecting construction activities;
Reviewing contractor submittals;
Responding to requests for information;
Inspecting the site work;
Providing weekly reporting on project status;
Coordinating and communicating project needs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Markon is seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience reviewing design and construction plans for review against existing site conditions, resolution of unforeseen site problems, and proposal of cost effective technical solutions. Successful candidates for this position will possess the following: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or licensed to practice in the United States;
Preference will be given to candidates that possess a current professional engineers license, with additional preference to an professional engineers license from New York;
10 years experience practicing Electrical Engineering;
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in New York;
5 years experience inspecting electrical construction;
Knowledge of commercial hospital electrical construction; and
Knowledge of electrical design and installation of specialized medical and laboratory equipment; and
Ability to provide cost estimates and take-offs for contract modifications.
