Sr. Electrical & FPGA Electrical Engineer

Your Challenge

We are looking for a strong Senior Electrical and FPGA Engineer to help us create our next generation of products.

The right candidate(s) would fit into one or more of the following categories:

Have worked either as a generalist EE in a small company/series of companies but on products with an FPGA focus.

Is a classic serial contractor mainly taking contracts in FPGA development.

Has worked in small teams where they are used to testing their own code in real hardware.

The wrong candidate would:

Have worked mainly or exclusively in large teams of VHDL engineers under an agile development structure.

Been mainly involved in developing or verifying RTL for specialist ASICS like graphics processors etc.

Expect a clear delineation between design engineering and test engineering and be used to 'kicking' their code over the wall to be tested in a continuous integration environment

Responsibilities

Generate and document world class, innovative designs. This includes implementation of nonlinear and linear filter algorithms in VHDL, as well as interface definition and implementation to peripherals over standard board level protocols (SPI, I2C, UART).

Design write and run simulation test benches to prove out and debug VHDL designs.

Implement and run such designs on real hardware to prove our basic verification using standard lab equipment.

Provide technical leadership in problem solving and hardware integration activities.

Help define electrical architecture for current and advanced development projects.

Define test criteria and assist with the creation of test plans.

Document work through written and verbal status reports

Our offer

The Senior Electrical and FPGA Engineer will be working in our MR Patient Care group within the Hospital Patient Monitoring (HPM). This position is located at our Orlando, FL facility. As part of the MR Patient Care group, you will have the opportunity to work with world class engineers who develop products that help save lives all over the world.

We are looking for

The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills education and experience:

5+ years of strong, technical experience

BS in engineering required, MS in engineering is preferred.

Design experience with FPGAs in VHDL and be fully competent with simulation, synthesis, debug and integration tools for test on hardware (Polarfire, Libero and Synopsis toolset experience a plus).

Experience with specifying and meeting FPGA timing closure and constraints.

Working knowledge of GIT.

Ability to implement complex mathematical functions and fixed point math using resource efficient VHDL coding styles and FGPA specific IP cores.

Scripting languages such as Python desirable

Must be able to work closely with board design engineers to ensure functional, electrical and physical design constraints are clearly communicated and mutually agreeable upon.
