Procon Consulting, a fast-growing professional services firm in McLean, VA with expertise in construction management (CM), construction-related technology, space planning, and facilities management, seeks an onsite Electrical Engineer to prepare design documents and/or scopes of work for Design/Build services and construction work. Provide decisive guidance and direction regarding the management of technical aspects of engineering related to building structures. Responsible for the overall management, in terms of technical quality, cost and schedule.

Procon Consulting operates as an owner's representative throughout the United States for government construction projects. We specialize in capital improvement projects in government construction & engineering. All candidates must meet the following skills and qualifications:

Qualifications & Skills
    • Licensed professional with a degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution of higher learning.
    • Licensed professional engineer in Electrical Engineering
    • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in both design and construction.
    • Able to quickly understand and master the requirements of local, state, and federal jurisdictions and their application to the requirements of the project.
    • Possess Communication, Language, and Software Skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacy.
    • Professional experience shall include the ability to read and interpret construction documents, as well as communicate effectively with project construction team members.
    • Experience on healthcare projects/facilities shall be preferred.

Responsibilities & Duties
    • Responsible for the engineering analysis, development, design of and the preparation of complete plans and specifications for new work and improvements.
    • Provides technical oversight and evaluation concerning all engineering disciplines as they pertain to all project work.
    • Independently responsible and accountable for determining the action necessary in the development and completion of design projects, coordination of a project staff which may include architects, engineers, engineering technicians, draftsmen, and clerk/typists and review of the final contract documents.
    • Surveys existing job conditions and confers with requesting medical center personnel to determine exact scope of project, phasing, impact on other medical center services and other specific design requirements.
    • Determines how project(s) will impact medical center based on results of a risk assessment that could have a severe impact on patient care.
    • Provide decisive direction in regard to business, technical and project management involving multi-disciplinary and diverse functional activities for healthcare infrastructure upgrades.
    • Responsible for the overall management, in terms of technical quality, cost and schedule.
    • Maintain daily progress reports and inspection reports and shall lead the inspection and quality assurance team assigned to projects to ensure timely and effective project oversight.
    • Healthcare experience and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure construction projects preferred.

$100,000 - $130,000 a year

Salary based on experience.
