Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties You will control the generation or distribution of electric power in power generating plants, power distribution centers, and substations. You will operate power generation and distribution systems supporting industrial and/or residential operations. You will operate control panels that allow remote starting of diesel engine powered generators. You will voltage and amperage and making exacting adjustments to the system to assure adequate power for load demands. You will read/analyze a variety of interrelated meter indications to detect abnormal conditions (e.g. circuit overloads, improper line voltages, or equipment temperature, etc.). You will operate bucket trucks, Auger trucks, line trucks and forklifts in an incidental basis, must qualify foe and maintain a government license for all equipment in accordance with Navy P300 licensing regulations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. The position often requires irregular hours. This position requires rotating shift work. May be subject to rotational work assignments for extended periods to perform duties at various locations. Travel by military or commercial aircraft, boats and ships may be required. You will be subject to recall in the after-hours emergency recall list. In the event of a major emergency or disaster, all employees will be required to report to their supervisor in a most timely manner possible. Incumbent is entitled to a Remote Allowance. Current California Class C license or higher required. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. 1. Controlling the generation or distribution of electric power in power generating plants, power distribution centers, and substations.

4. Monitoring voltage and amperage and making exacting adjustments to the system to assure adequate power for load demands.

PHYSICAL EFFORT; Must be in generally good physical condition. Heaviest weight handled generally does not exceed 50 pounds. Work requires sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, stretching and standing for long periods. Must have good eye/hand coordination, normal hearing and dexterity in both hands. The incumbent is required to move about in the power plant, mechanical rooms, climb ladders and field work sites. WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to high noise area requiring dual hearing protection. Exposure to grease, fuel, vapors and high voltage electricity. Required to climb 0 foot vertical ladders and work from platforms or wind turbine nacelles. Periodically required to work in confined spaces, subject to severe electrical shock, burns, cuts, bruises and falls. Much of work is outdoors in all kinds of weather, exposed to heat, dampness, cold and high winds.
