EHS Technician

Job Title EHS Technician Position Overview Shaw Industries is looking for an EHS Technician to support facility EHS operations by completing critical tasks designed to promote compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, Shaw Management System (SMS), requirements, and general industry Best Practice. This position is located/based in Cartersville, GA. Responsibilities: Perform SAFE and Environmental system compliance audits and inspects according to facility policies and local laws and regulations. Work with EHS and training team to accomplish goals of all SAFE system programs, Environmental Handbook, and SMS. Be an EHS expert and resource for plant safety committees, facility ergonomic committees. Maintain all documentation and required metrics for inspections, audits and vendor reports. Report any concerns to Safety Leadership Organization. Partner with Maintenance and Plant Engineering to ensure EHS work orders are addressed. Maintain and monitor SDSs in the SAFETEC system and partner with plant training to ensure effective training is held and associates are educated appropriately. Serve an active role in the incident investigation process and root cause analysis. Coordinate shipments of facility non-hazardous, hazardous and universal chemical waste. Other responsibilities as assigned by manager. Use Cority to review incidents and participate in incident investigations. Coordinate and assist associates with both eyeglass and boot programs. Conduct Routine walk throughs in Plant Departments. Provide for routine and frequent communication with Safety Coordinators and Team Managers on the floor. Coordinate vendor inspections for hoist and rigging, fire, backflow devices, elevator, and pressure vessels.
