The EHS Specialist has a pivotal role within the business to drive and embed Health and Safety to complement existing and future Warn Automotive policies and procedures. Create a strong culture that engages employees. This includes championing Health & Safety efforts in regulatory compliance, injury prevention, workers compensation, and risk management. The EHS Specialist will also administer company Warn Automotive's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Management System with the support of the Warn Automotive Environmental Engineer Company Overview: Dover's Vehicle Service Group is the global leader in designing and manufacturing vehicle service, collision and automotive OEM equipment. VSG consists of fifteen leading vehicle lifting brands (Rotary, Forward, Blitz, Ravaglioli etc.), collision repair (Chief), wheel services, diagnostics (Butler, Rotary, Chief and Ravaglioli) and tier-one automotive brands (Warn Automotive) with operations worldwide, including regional business operation centers and large manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Essential Job Functions Include: The essential functions of this position include: plan, implement and coordinate safety programs, requiring application of engineering principles and technology, to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions, to reduce risk, control costs, analyze and ensure compliance throughout all business functions. Develop and drive cross-functional teams, and projects to evaluate, develop and implement policies, training, metric assessments and hazard controls to ensure regulatory compliance and incorporate best management practices in regard to occupational safety. Provide technical expertise to teams to help evaluate risks and cost-effectively resolve health and safety issues, including recommendations from incident investigations, and internal and/or regulatory audits. Serve on cross-functional teams, facilitate audits, develop safety procedures, lead and/or participate in incident investigations and safety training, interact with operations and maintenance and interface with external regulatory organizations. Develop and manage EHS programs in support of Warn Automotive's strategic and team-specific goals which would include but not be limited to (a) Create a culture of injury-free attitudes within the organization by demonstrating honest, genuine care and passion for safety; (b) Develop and manage programs that adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and support the elimination of industrial accidents; (c) Develop accident prevention and loss-control systems and programs for incorporation into operational policies of the organization; (d) Compile, analyze and interpret statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents and/or environmental standards and requirements and report to business leaders. Drive improvement and track goal(s) achievement through collection, analysis, and communication of EHS and KPI data (including but not limited to programs evaluation, workplace audits, training completion, injuries and illnesses and other significant events in Enablon management system). Active involvement in all plant reviews of new equipment installations, product/ingredient introductions, purchasing specifications, new or redesigned work processes, etc., working cross-functionally to ensure employee safety. Ensure regulatory compliance, communication and reporting in ways which would include but not be limited to: (a) Write EHS policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA, State and Federal regulations; (b) Organize and conduct audits and hazard evaluation and control, performing analysis of equipment, processes, facilities and communication in support of risk reduction; (c) Maintain program records requiring metrics, documentation and budget/cost savings; (d) Work with Warn Automotive's team members and leadership to evaluate opportunities for recycling, waste reduction and new raw material to reduce existing impacts. Support, manage and improve Warn Automotive's EHS programs in ways which would include but not be limited to (a) Act as liaison with outside organizations such as fire departments, EMS and rescue teams, inspectors, to assure information exchange and mutual assistance; (b) Maintain inventories of safety equipment and PPE; (c) Managing daily EHS functions such as job safety analysis (JSA), auditing, EHS lean initiatives, issue resolution and change management; Manage programs including hazard communications, hearing conservation, air quality, security and emergency evacuation, STOP, LOTO and First Responders. Communicate in a professional, respectful, courteous, collaborative and effective hands-on manner with all employees, customers, vendors, visitors and others with whom we may work or interact. Contribute to a successful work group through positive interactions, active listening, meaningful collaborations, and the constructive exchange of ideas designed to meet or exceed the organization's strategic goals. Work with management/team members in support of Warn Automotive's EHS goals in ways which would include but not be limited to (a) Provide counsel to managers responsible for safety and environmental protection including remedial and preventative programs tailored to specific team needs; (b) Support EHS activities of leadership to ensure implementation of EHS activities throughout the organization; (c) Prepare and administer EHS training and Incentive programs, identify EHS training and certification needs, develop materials and courses, present topics, identify and train instructors as needed and maintain training records; (d) Conduct incident preparedness evaluation and training; (e) Lead Warn Automotive's safety committees; (f) Work with engineering and production team members to determine health, safety and ergonomics of products. Manage accidents/incidents in support of Warn Automotive's EHS goals and accident prevention in ways which would include but not be limited to (a) Lead investigations and identify root cause of accidents; (b) Conduct incident preparedness, response, investigation, root cause analysis, corrective measures and tracking; and (c) Manage workers compensation and Return to Work programs and compliance as well as serving as a liaison with injured worker and workers compensation provider to ensure timely and appropriate resolution. Accountable for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance in assigned area. Responsible for design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, including a self-assessment and report to management. Accountable for developing and monitoring processes and practices necessary for legal and ethical compliance in assigned area. Work safely and without injury. Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled. Performs other various duties as may be assigned. Availability Requirements: Due to the nature and scope of the essential functions of this position, the importance of personal interactions with coworkers and employees, and the availability of job-related tools, equipment and resources at work, performance of the essential functions requires regular, consistent availability, accessibility, and presence on-site and after-hours. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm. This position regularly requires long hours and occasional weekend work as job duties demand. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of area travel may be expected. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering or Occupational Safety field required.
