Job Summary
Assesses, plans, organizes, implements and evaluates orientation of new Associates. Assists with educational programs for all Associates within those specified departments. Functions as the liaison for nursing care areas, updates and reviews all nursing competencies, educational needs and reviews the current standards of practice to ensure the standards of care are maintained in the departmental setting. Participates and/or assists as an educational planner for CNE through possession of authority, accountability and responsibility of the CNE program planning in collaboration with nursing support services.

5. Ability to utilize computer software applications to include word processing, spreadsheets and graphic presentations, preferred.

7. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
8. Develops own skills and competencies.
Work Experience
Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse working in specialty care area. Education experience preferred.
License/Registration/Certification
1. Current and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
2. Current CPR training required.
3. ACLS required within 6 months of being in the position.
4. PALS required within 6 months of being in the position for the following nursing units: Cath Lab, ASU, ED, Endoscopy, OR, PACU.
5. Attainment of the Nursing Professional Development Certification or an approved national nursing certification in specialty area within 3 years of being in the position.
Education and Training
Bachelor degree in Nursing required.
