Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Assist in implementation of program curriculum and in planning daily activities for the age group assigned.
- Assist with ongoing assessment of each individual child.
- Help plan and emphasize the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, cultural and nutritional needs of the children from the communities served.
- Responsible for the supervision and overall safety and well being of each child.
- Help gear the program to the needs of individual children with respect and concern for their interests, special needs, special talents, and individual style and pace of learning.
- Consider individual children in relationship to their cultural and socio-economic background.
- Treat children and their families with dignity and respect.
- Treat all children's records with confidentiality.
- When appropriate, volunteering your time for various after hour and weekend activities that benefit KIDCO Child Care, Inc.
- Assist in recruitment of classroom parent volunteers.
- Help children become aware of their roles as integral members of a group.
- Participate in all the training sessions, visitations, meetings and program events held by the agency for the overall planning of the program at each site.
- Responsible for the arrangement, safety, maintenance, appearance and décor of the learning environment and surrounding environment.
- Conduct parent conferences and home visits to discuss child's overall development.
- Assist in ensuring In-kind is completed by parents.
- Help work with parents for input on child's overall development, lesson plans, activities, events, etc.
- Assist in ensuring transition process is explained to parents and encourage their participation and input for transition.
- Assume an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities of the learning environment such as: sanitizing, sweeping, dusting, mopping, taking out the trash, etc.
- Work with other Teachers and Administrative Staff in ensuring the smooth coordination of all classroom activities and student interrelationships.
- Work with other Teacher and Administrative Staff in scheduling visitors to the program.
- Attend staff meetings and report to Administrative staff any center issues including staff concerns and suggestions.
- Assist in conducting ongoing observational evaluation needed to assess the developmental levels of the children.
- Attend all recommended training programs and is responsible to maintain and complete mandated in-service hours by the Department of Children and Families each program year.
- Responsible for ongoing maintenance and completion of all Program forms and all other program related forms for each individual child.
- Encourage parents to read and utilize the program's resource library on a monthly basis.
- Help plan both indoor and outdoor activities encompassing a complete day in the program.
- Ensure that necessary equipment and materials are accessible and in good condition in order to encourage maximum use by children. Maintain an updated list for ordering supplies and equipment.
- Complete and turn in all necessary reports and records as required by the program and those requested by the Administrative Staff in a timely basis, in a neat and legible manner.
