Position: Electronic and Instrumentation Technician
Location: Neville Island Plant - Pittsburgh, PA

Hours of work: Mondays - Fridays; Day Shift 6:30am-2:30pm plus on call per rotating schedule

The Electrical & Instrument Technician will maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair all electrical, electronic, and instrumentation systems at the Neville Island Plant. The Electrical & Instrument Technician will ensure the proper working condition of all electrical or electrically related systems. Some mechanical work required.

Starting pay rate of $36.88/hour .

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Participate fully in all NIP safety, quality, team, and other personnel development programs
  • Participate in required training programs to improve technical and personal development and performance
  • Install new equipment, systems, and/or components on an as-needed as-requested basis
  • Develop, write, and modify procedures for safety, testing, repairing and/or overhauling plant equipment as required
  • Develop, write, update, and perform preventative and predictive maintenance procedures
  • Plan and estimate projects as deemed necessary by the Maintenance Coordinator
  • This includes scoping out the project, planning the job, generating lists of needed materials, and estimating man-hour/personnel requirements
  • Make red-line modifications, notations, and informal document changes to all necessary files and drawings that do not represent actual as-built conditions
  • Work overtime when necessary to appropriately support plant operations
  • Provide timely feedback on all work performed for entry into the maintenance management computer system
  • Interface with all other NIP Teams and personnel
  • Participate fully in Maintenance Team functions
  • Actively participate in department and plant housekeeping operations
  • Participate in the self-directed work team concept set forth by Calgon Carbon Corporation
  • Assist the Maintenance Coordinator in various functions necessary to support the plant operations
  • Interface with and/or coordinate outside contractors and vendors as necessary
  • Recommend and provide appropriate technical data for all replacement parts and equipment when necessary to maintain the operation of the plant. Submit supply request forms through the appropriate channels
  • Work together with all other personnel in a positive fashion as required for the safe, efficient, and successful operation of the plant

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required (Concentration in industrial electronics or equivalent is preferred)
  • An associates degree (A.A.), or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred
  • 3-5 years of plant experience is required
  • Basic computer skills are preferred
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills
  • PLC programming skills are preferred
