Dump Truck Driver

Job Summary: The Dump Truck Driver will be responsible for transporting various materials to construction sites. Part of the driver's responsibilities include using the cranks and levers inside the truck to unload materials, supervising the loading of materials onto the truck, and inspecting the truck for any mechanical issues before and after each trip. Duties/Responsibilities: Transporting crushed rock, sand, and gravel to and from specified locations. Verifying the types of materials being transported and ensuring that they do not exceed weight restrictions. Load and unload cargo. Maintain accurate driver logs. Keep truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order. Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel. Report all accidents, near misses and other hazards. Planning routes efficiently and delivering freight on time. Complying with deferral and state trucking rules and regulations, including mandatory rest periods and weight restrictions. Required Skills/Abilities: Applicable commercial driver's license (CDL). Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills. Works well independently and with others under pressure. Good communication skills. Organized with attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment. Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED Minimum of 3 years of dump experience. A clean driving record, as well as sound knowledge of truck maintenance. Knowledge of federal and state laws that regulate the road freight transport industry. Physical Requirements: Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery. Must be able to visually inspect machines. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
