MARC, Inc. of Manchester is looking for a Part-Time Direct Support Professional for our Senior Center department. The primary function of the position is to ensure that all retirees participate in integrated, dignified and respectful social activities and that services are provided in accordance with not only MARC, Inc.s mission statement and philosophy but also with State and Federal mandated laws, policies and regulations. JOB DUTIES TO INCLUDE: Implements Senior Center Services which offer both daily community activities and center based activity options. Participates in activities according to senior preferences. Prepares necessary reports and completes documentation as required by the agency and the State Department of Developmental Services. Ensures accurate emergency fact sheet information and case record files for retirees. Attends staff meetings, scheduled in-services, and specified retiree meetings. Transports retirees to and from the Senior Center in agency vehicle or own car. Assists in routine maintenance of Senior Center van. Administer proper supports to individuals in need of daily toileting routines and ADL skills. Assists in agency Service Evaluation System. Writes for the agency monthly newsletter. Creatively plans and implements appropriate activities for all seniors. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent Ability to obtain CT license, auto-registration, and vehicle insurance as driving is required Knowledge of proactive thinking and positive supports PHYSICAL EFFORTS: Frequent sitting, walking, standing, and driving.
