DSHS BHA Institution Counselor 3 We're looking to hire Institution Counselor 3's at Olympic Heritage Behavioral Health, a psychiatric facility in Tukwila, Washington. Our recent acquisition of the former Cascade Behavioral Health hospital in Tukwila, which closed and ceased operations earlier this year, is a vital step in our commitment to examining a wide range of options to help us positively impact the needs of people awaiting behavioral health treatment. Olympic Heritage Behavioral Health (OHBH) is committed to patient care and we strive to serve all patients and family members with the utmost respect. We are looking to hire IC3s for our Rehabilitation Departments. The IC3s in the Rehabilitation Department will be providing therapeutic, engagement, and recreational activities for patients, primarily in a Treatment Mall setting. This position reports directly to a Therapies Supervisor. Final oversight is provided by the Chief Clinical Officer. You will work in close collaboration with social workers, psychologists, psychology associates, and other treatment team members to promote individualized wellness and recovery. This position will work either Sundays through Wednesdays or Wednesdays through Saturdays, 8:30am-7:00pm. Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate. King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible to receive a free ORCA card for transportation use. Some of what you'll do Lead or co-lead therapeutic treatment groups to help patients understand and process thoughts and feelings. Lead or co-lead therapeutic treatment groups to help patients develop life skills. Lead or co-lead recreational and engagement activities. Help develop groups and activities based on patients' needs and your skills. Who should apply? Those with a bachelor's degree, preferably involving a major study in sociology or other social science; AND Two years of experience working with clients in a psychiatric or mental health setting; OR Equivalent combination of education/experience) OR One year as an Institutional Counselor 2 Desired Ability to work with challenging patients in a therapeutic, non-threatening manner. In-depth working knowledge of group and individual behavior and dynamics. An Agency Affiliated Counselor license from the Washington State Department of Health will be needed.
