Drug Overdose Prevention Specialist

HEALTH DEPARTMENT GRANTS - Full Time Position Summary: The Drug Overdose Prevention Program (DOPP) Specialist position operates within the Health Promotion and Wellness Center. this position will implement opioid use disorder education and demonstrate administration of naloxone to program training participants through the use of virtual, in person, and rapid training programs to local/county individuals, businesses, workplace, community organizations, and other community institutions; assist with comprehensive syndromic surveillance program for non-fatal drug overdose incidents; assist in the development DOPP promotional awareness ideas and messages for social media; provide current information on status of DOPP trainings and number of individuals trained to the WCHD leadership; assist with rapid deployment strategies; and maintain documentation for monthly and quarterly reports to provide to supervisor for IDHS reporting.
