Job Description We are currently seeking a Full-time Driver (CDL req'd) for a route based out of Waconia, MN. DMS Health Technologies, a division of Digirad, a publicly-held company with over 600 employees nationwide, delivers convenient, effective, and efficient healthcare solutions on an as needed, when needed, and where needed basis. Digirad's diverse portfolio of mobile health care solutions and medical equipment and services, including diagnostic imaging and patient monitoring, provides hospitals, physician practices, and imaging centers throughout the United States access to technology and services necessary to provide exceptional patient care in the rapidly changing healthcare environment. Summary The driver transports sophisticated medical equipment to customer sites. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The driver's primary responsibility is to transport the mobile unit to customer locations. The driver is responsible for the maintenance of the truck and trailer which includes; checking and maintaining the fire extinguishers, patient lift, smoke detectors and emergency lighting and scheduling and documenting preventive maintenance as necessary. Drivers inspect the truck before and after each trip and submit a report indicating truck conditions. Drivers maintain driver logs according to DOT regulations. The driver assists the technologist with various duties including transporting patients from the facility to the mobile unit and back. (This only applies to the drivers who have patient contact.) The driver demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. He/she is able to identify and categorize each patient's age-specific grouping of needs, such as those for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patients. (This only applies to drivers who have patient contact.) The incumbent demonstrates commitment to customer satisfaction and quality as exhibited by internal and external customer feedback. This includes timely completion of mandatory education and current credentials. The incumbent is in complies with safety and quality procedures and initiatives by strictly following safety policies, rules and safe work methods, making suggestions to support continuous improvements in safety, promptly correcting or reporting safety hazards or unsafe conditions, promptly reporting injuries for timely diagnoses and medical treatment, and by participating in safety processes such as safety committee, safety inspections, etc. The driver complies with DMS policies, local, state and federal regulations and laws related to work duties and responsibilities. In an effort to promote professional growth to its employees and the organization, DMS may alter job duties, responsibilities and projects in the course of employment.
