DRIVER CLASS C

The Class C Driver is responsible for the collection and delivery of donations for Goodwill's retail and environmental business operations. The driver will maintain a safe, professional attitude and appearance while following assigned routes and interacting with residential and business customers.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Able to operate a Box Truck in a safe and efficient manner for extended periods of time per day
  • Must be able to learn and follow predetermined routes.
  • Be familiar with and have applicable knowledge of DOT and State driving regulations.
  • Be familiar with and have applicable knowledge of the California Vehicle Code as it pertains to the operation of a Box Truck.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, as well as all Federal, State and Local OSHA
  • Ensure a pleasant donation experience for the donor while collecting donations.
  • Inspect vehicle and equipment pre and post trip.
  • Ensure compliance with all transportation and safety regulations
  • Report on-the-job injuries and accidents immediately
  • Able to work night and weekend hours
  • Able to assist in the unloading and loading of trucks and trailers
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Possession of valid class C CA Driver License with a clean record.
  • Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience.
  • Must possess a valid medical card
  • Must have a current MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) that has no citation convictions (other than parking) for the previous 5 years.
  • Good interpersonal skills and sound character.
  • Able to read map and interpret instructions.
  • Able to act quickly and correctly in various traffic situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Respects and has knowledge of cultures, ethnicities, gender, sexual orientations, and age groups other than one's own, able to work effectively with all.

Goodwill SF Bay relies on a combination of material and financial donations to support employment services including individualized career support, skill building, industry certification programs, and support services such as transportation, clothing vouchers, referrals to mental health, housing and more. Donating and shopping at Goodwill is good for our planet and the local environment and helps Goodwill SF Bay divert >35 million of pounds from local landfills every year.
