Under the direction of the Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO), the Donor Relations Manager is responsible for raising philanthropic support from individual donors. As a key member of the Foundation team, the Donor Relations Manager is essential to the development and implementation of a focused individual giving program and to the necessary strategies essential to engaging and stewarding current donors, cultivating new relationships, and increasing philanthropic support. Manages the identification, qualification, cultivation, and stewardship of individual donors through strategic individual cultivation and solicitations. Directs and executes strategies to identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit individual donors through personal donor visits, phone, email/digital, and mail communication. Updates the donor database with information related to donors in active cultivation or in a portfolio. Ensures proper donor recognition and stewardship. Works and supports the Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) to strengthen donor engagement through consistent and high-quality communications. In collaboration with the CPO, assists in the management of a portfolio of qualified donors with six-figure capacity or greater. In collaboration with Foundation leadership, helps develop an annual revenue and expense budget for solicited gift fundraising and reviews revenue projections and reports with the Chief Philanthropy Officer and Development Services Manager quarterly to measure year-over-year stretch goals. Works with the CPO to create and execute strategies to qualify, contact, and cultivate prospective donors. Meets with CPO on a biweekly basis to discuss donor strategies and relationship management tactics. In conjunction with the CPO, is responsible for managing donor stewardship as well as moving donors in and out of the portfolio based on their giving history. Ensures enough donors are in the prospect pipeline to meet organizational goals. Constructs, monitors, and updates a comprehensive three-year strategic plan tied to individual donors, including measurable goals and objectives. Develops long-term relationships with a variety of constituents, including employees, external stakeholders, physicians/providers, volunteers, and other community leaders. Cultivates existing and new individual donors, as well as community audiences through writing and speaking, to convey the impact and importance of giving to the Foundation. Assists both the Salinas Valley Health CEO/President and CPO in various fundraising and fund development activities including, but not limited to, donor relations, special events, prospect management, as well as other special projects as assigned. Education: Bachelors degree required or commitment to obtain Bachelors degree within 4 years from date of hire or transfer. Licensure: None required. Experience: A minimum of eight (8) years experience in fundraising, proposal development, marketing strategy, and promotion activities required. The hourly rate for this position is $40 - $50.50. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
