POSITION OVERVIEW The position of Ready Mix Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a ready mix truck used for the delivery of ready-mix concrete and other associated products to construction sites while maintaining a safety first attitude. This position requires management resources in adherence with all company standards, policies and procedures, as well as compliance with all federal and state regulations, including OSHA, MSHA, TCEQ, FMCSA, etc. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES As a concrete delivery professional, you will learn to execute the following: Delivery of Ready-Mix Concrete Fill water tank, check slump of load and clean excess material from truck. Safely drive loaded truck to destination on delivery ticket and/or instructions from dispatch. Ensure all delivery tickets are signed and returned to the plant. Upon arrival, you will learn to inspect job sites, work with customers to obtain adequate vehicle access and unload material. Communicate truck status with Dispatch by use of two-way radio and encoders. Rinse chutes and rear of truck to clear of spilled concrete and re-position extension chutes as necessary. Return to same yard or other yard as instructed by dispatch and receive new instructions for the next load. Vehicle Maintenance: Learn how to perform pre-trip vehicle safety inspection and report vehicle condition at the beginning and the end of each shift. Check all vehicle fluid levels daily and add fluids as necessary. Learn how to perform minor repairs and assist mechanics in vehicle repairs. Change flat tires with spares and assist tire mechanic if needed. Safety: Learn safety rules and how to properly wear/clean personal protective equipment. Report all unsafe conditions promptly. Other: Takes customer order changes in the field and report to dispatch. Learn how to maintain Driver's Daily Logs. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS Must be an eligible participant for the DoD Skillbridge program, with applicable skills to transition to this training program. CDL A or CDL B with Airbrakes MOS 88M, 14T; Marine Corps 3531; USAF 2T1, 2FO, 3E2; US NAVY EO Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen Must be able to maintain a CDL and Medical Card long term Must meet our minimum background and driving record requirements Other relevant heavy transportation experience Build a lasting career with us.
