The Position
This position is accountable for the presenting, messaging, reporting and analytics of sales results to company senior management.
The position is responsible for: Proactively and cooperatively with and coordinate input from key stakeholders to complete analysis and develop recommendations. Communicates realistic expectations in a clear, concise, transparent manner, and to all levels of the organization. Sets direction and drives continuous improvement of the sales reporting process, tools, and core deliverables. Demonstrating strong sales reporting knowledge to support financial messaging and/or analytics across the organization. Ability to analyze data and generate insights on sales performance. Responsible for sales reporting process and tools, including ensuring all models are up to date with the latest methodologies and insights.
Relationships
Reports to the SR Director Sales Reporting & GtN. Internal relationships include Senior HQ & local leadership, brand VPs, FP&A GtN and forecasting COE's, and Supply Chain. Provide leadership and guidance to other members of the Sales Reporting team.
Essential Functions
Responsible for leading the development, preparation, and communication of weekly, monthly, & quarterly financial management reports & operational analysesOwns the messaging and communication of weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales results to senior leadership (CEO & CFO)Leads the creation of reporting for investor relations regarding quarterly and year to date performanceDevelops and performs standardized financial analyses to provide the executive team with an deep insights of sales on a monthly, quarterly and annual basisPrimary contact for weekly and monthly sales variances and insights in response to management and executive inquiriesAct as consultant to key stakeholders by staying connected and foreseeing evolving business issues and decision support needs related to brand performanceOwn and manage the relationship between FP&A, Trade and OTC functions in regard to wholesaler actions and their implications on sales and financial resultsOwner of key Corporate Annual Report disclosures surrounding Gross-to-net detail and wholesaler dataBuilds and maintains financial models to forecast short term sales performance (i.e. quarterly/ monthly landing)Support product launches as point of contact for ex-factory related inquires and trendsReviews historical and future trends to provide management with the insight necessary to make business decisionsEstablishes and maintains a systematic process to capture, challenge, and understand monthly sales variancesProvides leadership in the creation, implementation and communication of financial information to the organizationObtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial transactions within the reporting systemsAnalyze data from multiple different systems (i.e. SAP, Model N, etc.) and generate insights using such data to support understanding of sales performanceContinuously reviews and evaluates the quality of data and new data sources used in analyses, generating new insightsWork closely with Forecasting COE to ensure forecasted ex-factory volumes are appropriate and accurately reflect expectationsWork closely with Gross to Net COE to ensure forecasted discount rates are appropriate and accurately reflect expectationsAligns business teams to timelines, deliverables and expectations. Drives review and approval process with relevant leadership teamsWorks closely with Business Partners to ensure understanding of current sales performance as well as potential risks and opportunitiesResponsible for consolidation and reporting of North America Operations (NAO) quarterly LE and budgeted sales in accordance with HQ timelinesOwn the internal and external audit relationshipAssist in the development and improvement of operational systems, processes and policies to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the finance teamPursues new technologies, systems and processes to enhance timeliness of financial analysis and improve overall financial reportingEstablishes strong processes and maintains relevant SOPs and workflowsResponsible for ensuring ad hence to prescribe internal controls and documenting such adherence in conjunction with Sarbanes - Oxley requirements including ownership of the quarterly Sarbox memorandum to support critical rebate and Gross-to-Net assumptions and judgmentsProvide leadership and guidance to members of the Sales Reporting teamCollaborates with the other department managers to support overall department goals and objectivesPhysical Requirements

Development of People
Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.
Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility.
Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.
Qualifications
A Bachelor 's degree required; specified degree in finance, accounting or other business-related area is preferred. MBA or advanced degree preferredAt least 10 years of experience in financial management reporting with significant experience/exposure to Net Sales reporting, preferably from pharmaceutical industry. Three (3) years of required experience may be substituted with an MBA/advanced degree when appropriateMinimum of 3 years supervisory experience requiredStrong analytical, quantitative, and qualitative analysis skills requiredAbility to demonstrate leadership qualitiesAbility to develop and maintain strong internal relationshipsExcellent communication skillsExcellent Excel and other PC skills requiredHas the ability to act as project lead in the development and implementation of processes and programsPrior experience in Managed Market contracting or Gross to Net forecasting a plusWe commit to an inclusive recruitment process and equality of opportunity for all our job applicants.
