Director or Senior Director, Corporate Partnerships Activation & Strategy

D.C. United is seeking an experienced and highly motivated partnership activation and business strategy professional with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and consultative approach to lead the Partnerships Activation team and manage on-going administrative functions of the departments business functions. Primary responsibilities of this role will be to provide strategic and tactical direction for the department while overseeing the execution and management of all corporate partners. This position reports to SVP, Corporate Partnerships.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for leading a team of partnership activation professionals and personally managing the day-to-day execution of D.C. United's corporate partnerships with a focus on building long-lasting relationships
  • Oversee the management and strategic planning for all corporate partners; providing support and direction to brand engagement team where needed
  • Build and maintain systems and processes that allow the brand engagement team to operate effectively, stay organized, and deliver on all partnership assets
  • Act as marketing consultant to partner contacts to develop and deliver on impactful and measurable campaigns that meet their overall objectives
  • Coordinate and manage partnership assets for game days including but not limited to: production scripts, LED signage playlists, halftime promotions, hospitality experiences, etc.
  • Coordinate media trafficking of all corporate partnership assets including broadcast, social, digital, print, etc.
  • Stay up to date on industry landscape, emerging trends, etc. to keep marketing strategies and tactics relevant and to help ideate new concepts for sales team
  • Assist with renewal and upsell strategies to grow existing department revenue
  • Serve as primary contact for the onboarding of all new corporate partners
  • Build strong internal relationships and collaborate with other departments to develop integrated partnership platforms
  • Serve as lead contact for third party metrics providers including Zoomph and Nielsen.
  • Compile and write event specific recaps as well as biannual and season-ending recaps for corporate partners to demonstrate fulfillment and showcase ROI
  • Manage department budget by tracking all partnership activation costs and strategically allocating funds to stay within fulfillment budget for each partner account
  • Assist in the planning and execution of department events such as annual Client Trip, Corporate Alliance Events, hospitality/prospecting functions
  • Oversee partner activation for company owned Audi Field events (i.e. Capital Cup, Truth & Service Classic, Unite the District Festival)
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-8 years sports/entertainment client fulfillment and/or marketing agency experience.
  • You must provide proof of COVID-19 Vaccination prior to start date.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to take initiative.
  • Ability to multi-task a variety of projects at one time
  • Exceptional project organization skills and intense attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with strong interpersonal skills and customer service-oriented demeanor.
  • Ability to collaborate and build positive relationships within a multitude of business environments.
  • Ability to think creatively as it pertains to developing marketing and activation campaigns.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible and comfortable in a fast-paced working environment
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
