Job Summary:

We are looking for an energetic hotel sales professional who is interested in growing with us to join our team as Director of Sales at the Home2 Suites by Hilton in downtown Philadelphia. Along with a modern, residential-style room product, The Home2 enjoys a premium location, directly across the street from both the Philadelphia Convention Center and one of the city's top leisure destinations, Reading Terminal Market. Iconic City Hall, The Liberty Bell, and Ben Franklin's home are all within a few minutes' walk.

As a result, our ideal candidate is most likely a successful hotel sales manager who is ready for their first Director of Sales role, or an existing DOS who is tired of managing people, since the role combines sales leadership functions like strategic planning and maintaining exemplary CVB and the Hilton brand relationships with personally handling the hotel's third key market segment, business travel. In addition to proven sales success, the candidate must be able to establish and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with various internal and external customers to elevate the hotel to the next level. Meeting deadlines, managing time efficiently and communicating clearly and concisely are all critical. General Requirements

  • Professionally approach and communicate with current and prospective customers, partners, and associates.
  • Understand the market, the brand, positioning of the Home2, booking patterns, trends, high-demand times, and events in the market.
  • Represent the Home2 in the community, including key sales relationships like the Philadelphia Convention and Visitor's Bureau and the Hilton brand.
  • Handle group inquiries. Efficiently respond to and follow up on all event requests, including quoting rates and availability in accordance with the hotel's strategy.
  • Personally manage the Corporate / BT market segments, maintaining existing relationships and identifying potential new accounts, to ensure targeted room night and revenue contribution.
  • Properly maintain and communicate all client information, including group room blocks in all applicable systems (Delphi, OnQ).
  • Allocate and control sales and marketing expenditures to maximize return on investment and conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Participate in the weekly revenue management strategy meeting and provide ongoing assistance with the hotel pricing and revenue optimization process. Participate in the monthly long-term forecast and annual budget processes.

Fundamental Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of progressive hotel sales experience preferred; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience.
  • Director of Sales candidates must have a valid driver's license in the applicable state.
  • Must possess highly developed verbal & written communication skills to frequently negotiate convince sell and influence other managerial personnel hotel guest(s) and/or corporate clients.
  • Must have thorough experience with professional selling skills: opening probing supporting closing.
  • Shows strong analytical skills and strategic vision in establishing appropriate sales deployment.
  • Director of Sales candidates must be proficient in general computer knowledge especially Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong organization and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and manage people of diverse socioeconomic cultural disability and ethnic backgrounds while solving complex problems and creating a productive sale team.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales/marketing/hospitality profession.
  • Director of Sales candidates must work well in stressful high-pressure situations; maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.
