Title: Director of Project Management, Shipbuilding/Repair

Location: Greater Seattle, WA Area

Salary: $130,000-$150,000

Shipbuilding, Ship Repair, or Maritime experience is required for this position.

A leading shipbuilding and marine repair company in the greater Seattle Area is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join their team as the Director of Project Management. This is a newly created leadership role responsible for overseeing the project management team and ensuring the successful execution of diverse marine construction and repair projects.

Position Overview:

As the Director of Project Management, you will lead and mentor a team of Project Managers, overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple projects simultaneously. You will work closely with the engineering, production, and finance teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role will have significant impact on the profitability and success of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Project Managers, providing guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.

- Develop and implement project management strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize efficiency and ensure project success.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.

- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and implement effective mitigation plans.

- Conduct regular project reviews and provide accurate reporting on project status, budget utilization, and key performance indicators.

- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within the project management team.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

- Proven experience (8+ years) in project management within the shipbuilding, marine construction, or related industry.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

- Solid understanding of project management methodologies and tools.

- Experience managing large-scale, complex projects from initiation to completion.

- PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
