This award-winning Planetree Hospital is known for its technological advancements in care and has gained recognition for quality of care in numerous specialties - cardiac, stroke, cancer orthopedics and emergency services. The Director Professional Practice and Clinical Excellence is responsible for oversight of all Programs related to Hospital Nursing services and implementation of creative systems, processes, clinical practices that improve patient care delivery. Responsible for assuring the Planetree framework and essential nursing excellence domains are hard wired into the organization through coordination, education, and consultation with Leadership. Leads education for staff and Unit Champions on key initiatives and evidenced-based principles. Conducts gap analysis for evidence of nursing excellence using NDNQI and other hospital benchmarks and components and works closely with leadership to formulate plans to close the gaps in performance. The Director of Professional Practice and Professional Excellence will have a Masters in Nursing degree, PhD or DNP preferred. The Director will have prior experience leading professional practice and nursing education and LEAN activities for Performance Improvement. A current license to practice professional nursing in the State of CT required. ANCC leadership certification and/or Specialty clinical nursing certification within three years of hire. Master's degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Nursing or related field. Ten years of experience including 5 years of management level clinical leadership. Strong leadership abilities with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex healthcare challenges. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with various stakeholders. Proficient financial management skills, including budgeting and financial analysis. In-depth knowledge of healthcare operations, regulations, and industry trends. Ability to navigate and collaborate in a highly regulated and dynamic healthcare environment. Proficient in utilizing technology and data analytics to drive decision-making and process improvement. Demonstrated ability to make complex and strategic decisions and accept accountability for outcomes. Flexibility to respond and adapt to an environment that is quickly changing.
