Position Details:

Director of Postpartum- Austin, TX

Location : Austin, TX 78758

Project Duration : Full time permanent

Salary : Min $135k - mid $140k - max $145k

Shift: Full Time, No Weekends (24hr responsibility due to Director role)

Eligible for leadership bonus

Job Summary

Client is a multi-specialty hospital in Texas with more than 360 beds. The facility is home to Client Hospital, St. David's Women's Center of Texas featuring a Level III NICU, a Kidney Transplant Center, and the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery. Additional services offered at this medical center include 24-hour emergency care, heart and vascular care, neurology and neurosurgery, rehabilitation services, and inpatient and outpatient surgery.

Client Center is part of Client, which is one of the largest healthcare systems in Texas and the third-largest employer in the Austin area. St. David's HealthCare was formed through a unique partnership between Client Healthcare and two local non-profits - Client Health Foundation.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall function and staffing of the unit(s)/department(s) in addition to forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring. The Director fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration and supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures in support of facility objectives.

You will cultivate a superior clinical identity by identifying and implementing evidence-based practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes. Ensure adherence to standards of care.

You will manage variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost. Ensure a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care.

You will stay abreast of internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations and actively pursues efforts to achieve.

You will stay abreast of legal and regulatory standards and ensures compliance. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with all legal/regulatory standards.

You will ensure efficient patient throughput and delivery of high quality, patient-centered care through volume forecasting, patient flow coordination, and admission/discharge planning.

You will develop care coordination policies and procedures to promote improved quality, safety, and efficiency in care.

You will foster interdisciplinary communication and collaboration within and across departments and ensures staff with appropriate clinical competencies are assigned to meet patient care needs.

You will direct nursing practice and unit operations. Develop policies, procedures, and nursing standards to ensure patient and family needs are assessed, met, and evaluated.

You will provide leadership in attaining and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience.

You will instill accountability for providing consistent, positive patient interactions that differentiate the organization as a healthcare leader.

You will leverage various feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance and identify opportunities to improve customer/patient satisfaction. Develop and implement strategies to elevate the patient experience.

You will foster a culture that inspires commitment to the vision/mission/values of the organization. Ensure employees are recognized, valued, and supported. Develop and implement strategies to elevate employee engagement.

You will collaborate with administrative team and physicians to enhance existing services or develop new service offerings.

You will participate in the annual budget process, including input into department revenue and expense forecasts, staffing, and supply and equipment needs. Monitor department budget performance; identifies trends and evaluates variances in relation to established budget. Develop and implement actions to address performance gaps.

Education: BSN

License/ Certification:

Basic Cardiac Life Support

Registered Nurse

Experience:

2+ years of experience in a leadership role

3+ years of experience in healthcare

Additional Information:

97 beds by the end of 2023

Couplet care (usually 5-6 couplets)

Will be over postpartum & lactation- 2 Supv in lactation, close to 15 on the lactation team

Postpartum has day & evening manager

Department being broke in 2 areas: PP proper and PP IMC

Women's Center of TX will be about 285 beds
