Summary:

We are searching for a Director of Payroll to join our Finance Team and oversee the global payroll function at ZipRecruiter. The role will not only manage the complex requirements and fast paced administration of payroll, but continuously iterate to improve the service level and efficiency of the department as our business grows. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with all payroll regulations and maintain excellent customer service to our organization. They will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization on high impact projects that service our employee base. The Director of Payroll will be decisive and quick to resolve while understanding business needs and expressing compassion. The ideal candidate consistently demonstrates strong project management skills, ability to prioritize, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment They also possess strong people management skills, ability to mobilize the team to accomplish the end-goal in an effective and efficient manner while using a proactive approach to problem identification and remediation.

What you'll be doing:
•  Overseeing global payroll for 4 countries, multistate payroll with several pay groups for 1,000+ team members and growing
•  Overseeing the end-to-end payroll process, including data collection, timekeeping and payroll distribution, while ensuring the accuracy and timeliness in processing payroll transactions for all employees
•  Partnering strategically with HR, accounting, compensation, legal, equity, internal audit, etc.
•  Optimizing, maintaining, and implementing payroll software systems for efficient and accurate payroll processing, as needed
•  Building and improving payroll-related processes
•  Staying updated on federal, state and local payroll laws and regulations affecting the organization
•  Conducting regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance
•  Staying informed about industry best practices and recommend improvements to payroll processes
•  Ensure SOX compliance with regards to payroll controls and documentation Minimum Qualifications:
•  10+ years of experience in payroll for a company of at least 1,000 team members, 7+ of those years in a management role
•  5+ years of experience in multistate and global payroll
•  2+ years experience with equity compensation programs for public companies Preferred Qualifications:
•  Comprehensive knowledge of ADP Workforce Now payroll systems and modules
•  Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000 - $222,500. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, and the range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, role-related knowledge and skills, depth of experience, relevant education or training, and additional role-related considerations.

Depending on the position offered, equity, bonuses, commission, or other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
