Position: Director of Payroll

Notes: This position of Director of Payroll plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of payroll processes within the district. This leadership position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in payroll management, exceptional organizational skills and time management, and the ability to lead a dedicated team.

Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or five years of increasingly responsible payroll experience in a large and complex organization, including two years of lead or supervisory experience in a large multi-union computerized payroll environment.
  • Strong understanding of WA State payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems required.
  • WA State school district experience is desirable.
Licenses/Special Requirements:
  • Valid Washington State driver's license
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance.
In Addition to base pay for administrators:
  • 260 Day Contract, 13 Holidays, 25 Vacation Days (to 40 max.)
  • 10 Days Vacation Cash Out (annually)
  • 4 Days Personal Leave Cash Out (annually)
  • $1,800 Cell Phone Stipend
Professional Responsibility and Professional Learning:
Annual Salary 2023-24 Central Management Team Salary Schedule The base wages for all positions on this schedule include expectations for performing professional responsibilities on evenings, weekends and holidays as needed by the district, such as: preparing for/attending staff development activities; representing the district at local, State and National events; traveling for District business, participating/leading committees, participating in emergency events, etc. Additionally, the base wages for all positions on this schedule also include expectations for participation in a minimum of 24 hours annually of professional learning, which shall be agreed upon and discussed annually between the employee and their supervisor.
