The Director of Operations, a member of the Senior Leadership Team, leads the team and helps develop strategic goals for the company. The Director of Operations focuses on establishing and optimizing the company's day-to-day operations. The Director of Operations also has management oversight for the company's Enterprise Systems Group, IT Group, Project Management, Sales, Finance, and Administration teams.


REPORTS TO: President

DIRECT REPORTS: Senior Leadership Team


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist the President on strategic direction to advance the company's mission
  • Systems/Process standardization, including creating and implementing corporate Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and other methods and communicating them to ensure company initiatives are followed and subsequent goals are met
  • Implement strategies to enhance efficiency, profitability, and communication
  • Prepare comprehensive operational, budgetary, financial, capacity analysis, and productivity reports for presentation to the President and Senior Leadership Team
  • Develop and monitor departmental budgets to ensure financial sustainability
  • Lead and motivate a high-performance management team, fostering skill development and emphasizing and supporting business objectives
  • Drive gross profit objectives of the company
  • Daily and weekly review of KPI's and Metrics to ensure the company is running at optimum efficiencies
  • Conduct weekly leadership meetings and quarterly reviews following the EOS guidelines
  • Lead by example, providing guidance and mentorship to team members, facilitating problem resolution, and promoting a culture of excellence and accountability
  • Uphold and reinforce company values, culture, and ethics
  • Identify and address risks proactively within the organization

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Weekly review and approval of timesheets and time off requests

Requirements:

Required SKILLS and Attributes:

  • Proficient in MS Office applications

  • Daily use and knowledge of MRP / ERP systems, Epicor a plus
  • Acquisition and merger integration planning and experience a plus

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & KNOWLEDGE:

  • 10+ years of management experience in positions of increasing responsibility where company performance and employee management have been emphasized
  • Progressive experience in the professional services industry; prior experience demonstrating effective management skills in a fast-paced and growing environment
  • Experience working with or leading in a Managed Services Provider environment
  • ERP systems expertise with a depth of knowledge among a broad range of manufacturing processes (i.e., make-to-stock / make-to-order / engineer-to-order environments) (e.g., SyteLine, Epicor, Syspro, SAP, Oracle)
  • Exceptional client relations skills and the ability to handle problem-resolution meetings
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills, including process documentation
  • Knowledge of Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Use of computer and office equipment
  • Performs all administrative functions expected at this level

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to schedule evening or weekend work occasionally
  • Valid driver's license in your state of residence and reliable personal vehicle
