Job Details

Operations Director leads the Production and Inventory, Warehouse/Order Fulfillment team, Supply Chain/Logistics, IT/Technical and Accounting Teams, consisting of leaders in impact, development, manufacturing, product development, human resources and finance. The role works closely with the entire enterprise and is responsible for developing, executing, and monitoring strategic plans and programs, both short- and long-term goals to support business initiatives and the objectives of the organization. This includes, but is not limited to, developing and implementing plans for the operational infrastructure in the form of policies, systems, processes, staff development to improve the overall operations and effectiveness of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Transform the organization into a higher performing entity that sets clear goals, obtains and measure results, generates strong employee loyalty and performance.
Oversee key cultural initiatives and ensure collaboration with all department leaders across Company; function as executive coach and resource for their teams as well as their fellow management.
Facilitate the development, communication, and evaluations of goals for their departments on an annual basis.
Oversee and drive their departments strategic planning and problem solving. Increase efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
A strong background in contract manufacturing & assembly, supplier management, contract negotiation, operational logistics, warehousing, shipping, and inventory management.
Provides leadership and direction to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and cost; meet or exceed company objectives.
Participates in regular P&L reviews to ensure budgets are met and provides direction, development, and leadership to production.
Work with each departmental leader to develop annual performance goals and workplans that cascade to individual team members and connect with the overall strategic plan.
Manage all manufactures and production and management of finished goods inventory and component inventory worldwide.
Motivate, team building, guide, train and lead a high-performance management team and provide mentoring as a cornerstone to management development. Guide team in prioritizing/executing on multiple program objectives.
Oversee and direct, through direct reports and other managers, the supervision of all operational staff (Accounting, Operations, Warehouse/Order Fulfillment/Customer Service, HR, IT/Technical & Production).
Provide guidance to direct reports in developing operational plans and timelines for all projects and initiatives. Foster engagement, team building, and consensus across the organization through regular meetings, collaboration, and other professionally sound methods.
Lead the annual budget development process, in partnership with Director of Operations and Accounting Manager to ensure fiscal decisions support the organization's transformation. Streamline the process for greater efficiency. Oversee scenario planning and financial analysis to drive decision making.
Provide recommendations to leadership regarding all major strategic and financial decisions and oversee the implementation of decisions. Analyze data and systems to inform decisions.
Identify opportunities to leverage and/or redesign processes, tools and technology to improve company operations.
Lead the Operations team in developing systems and analytics to support decision making.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree
8+ years' experience managing middle management employees and their teams.
8+ years' experience in operations.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Google Applications, QuickBooks, and SAGE experience preferred. Experience with various WMS systems
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Experience working in a start-up Environment.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to work with routine, and/or repetitive activities but also responsive to disruption and change.
Effective multi-tasking and organization.
Thrives in a dynamic environment and easily acclimates to changes in process/systems for overall improvement of the organization.
Clear communication, both written and verbal, with proper grammar and spelling.
Demonstrated knowledge of key metrics and financial analysis.
Demonstrated ability partnering with all levels of an organization.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
