As the Director of Nursing, you would guide and support Nurse Managers and clinical team members within the Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units. The patient populations your team will serve include Stroke, COPD, post-Cath Lab, Ortho, Renal Transplants, Cardiac Monitoring, Inpatient Hospice, Post-Op Med-Surg, Cardiac, CHF, and Oncology. Reporting to the VP of Patient Care Services, together you would implement the strategic plan providing direction for the nursing departments & shared decision-making initiatives at the hospital and system levels to support a superior patient experience. The Director of Nursing administrates the managerial functions of setting strategic initiatives, objectives, budgetary and financial responsibility, staffing, and directing activities of assigned areas of responsibility. A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in nursing administration and prior management experience are required-director-level experience preferred. 2. Clinical Experience, unit-specific, required. 4. Knowledge of administrative concepts, organizational behavior, management processes, and group dynamics in health care organizations. 5. Knowledge of current national nursing practices. 6. Ability to lead change, build & lead teams, and develop & maintain inter-professional relationships with senior executives and physicians. 7. Maintains executive competence in speaking and writing. Education: 1. MSN or other related Masters Degree required (must be completed or in-process) 2. Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing. Licensures/Certifications: 1. A current RN license OR a multi-state license verified in one of the approved states through the Nursing Licensure Compact. 2. Leadership or specialty certification is highly preferred.
