Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a leading regional medical center in Roxboro, NC to find a qualified and experienced Director of Nursing (DON). This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate leader to oversee all aspects of the nursing department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, compliance with regulations, and the well-being of nursing staff.

Responsibilities:

Provide strategic direction and leadership for the nursing department, developing and implementing a comprehensive vision for patient care, operational excellence, and staff development.

Oversee all clinical and operational aspects of the nursing department, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory guidelines (JCAHO, The Joint Commission, etc.).

Champion a patient-centered care environment, fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork among nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Develop and implement clinical programs and services to meet the evolving needs of the hospital and community.

Recruit, onboard, and retain high-performing nurses and other nursing staff.

Manage departmental budget and resources effectively, demonstrating strong financial acumen.

Lead and mentor nursing staff, promoting professional development and fostering a positive and supportive work environment.

Oversee departmental performance metrics, implementing quality improvement initiatives, and promoting best practices.

Ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital policies and procedures.

Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, administration, and other departments, fostering open communication and collaboration.

Participate in hospital leadership committees, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making processes.

Stay current on trends and best practices in nursing leadership and healthcare administration.

Qualifications:

Current and active North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required, Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

Minimum of two to three years of progressive nursing experience, with at least one year in a supervisory or leadership role.

Strong clinical background and expertise in a relevant healthcare setting (e.g., acute care, critical care).

Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage staff, delegate tasks, and mentor others.

Strong financial acumen and the ability to manage a budget effectively.

Commitment to promoting a culture of safety, quality, and patient-centered care.

Proficiency in computer applications and healthcare information systems (e.g., EMR).
