Compensation: Approximately $99,739 to $116,860 annually. All individual pay rates are calculated based on the candidate's experience and internal equity. Overview of Role: Clinica is seeking an experienced nurse candidate who will report to our Chief Medical Officer in our advanced team-based care environment. The Director of Nursing will guide the essential functioning and compliance of central nursing services duties (infection prevention, CLIA compliance), maintain/execute our standing orders protocols for our RNs and MAs, and partner with our CMO and other leaders to provide vision for optimizing our MA and RN/LPN roles in an increasingly value-based payment system for our innovative FQHC. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Organizational Leadership Partners with Chief Medical Officer to identify value-based payment opportunities that optimize top-of-scope work for nursing and medical assistant care team members in the service of Clinica Family Health patients. Represents nursing and MA support team at All Site Leadership, Operational Clinical Collaborative (OCC) and Clinical Leadership Team (CLT). Assists Chief Medical Officer in the development of policies and procedures related to the delivery of patient care to comply with current evidence-based practice. Assures that nursing and medical assistant staff receive the clinical training needed to implement policies and procedures. Maintains a synergistic and collaborative relationship with the Clinic Directors (CDs) and Clinica Medical Directors (CMDs) to provide seamless support to the care teams. Maintains a synergistic and collaborative relationship with the VPMS, VP of Operations, VP of Behavioral Health, VP of Process Improvement, and with the Enhanced Care Services Directors. Represents Clinica Family Health as primary care nurse leader in the community and with external partners. Partners with human resources department staff on strategies for recruitment and retention of medical assistants and nurse staff. Participates in Population Health Committee and other organizational committees as assigned. Team Supervision and Development Works closely with the Chief Medical Officer in providing the vision and strategy for onboarding and training that supports competent clinical skills for all nurse and medical assistants. Provides clinical coaching of the Assistant Nursing Directors (AND) in secondary matrix to the site Clinic Director role. Provides day to day supervision of the Nursing Services Manager - MA and Nursing Services Manager - RN Provides secondary clinical matrix coaching with the VP of Process Improvement to the Population Health Manager role. Works collaboratively to determine optimal care teamwork flows for the nursing and medical assistant care team roles. Delivers or delegates clinical training to nurse and medical assistant care team staff in clinical support functions with support from the AND team. Responsible for appropriate management of quality-of-care complaints directed at AND team. Oversees the clinical competency evaluations for all non-provider nursing and medical assistant staff at Clinica. Supports nursing and medical assistant student clinical experiences in conjunction with HR. Program Oversight Oversees clinical aspects of regulatory issues and programs such as VFC (Vaccines for Children), CLIA and OSHA. Serves as collaborative clinical lead for AAAHC, PCMH (Primary Care Medical Home), OSV (Operational Site Visit) site visits with other medical services administrators under the DMO's direction. Direct supervisor to the Nursing Services Program Manager - RN who serves as Infection Prevention Officer for Clinica Family Health and Employee Health RN lead. Direct supervisor to Nursing Services Manager - MA who serves as NIMAA program administrator and senior MA lead for the organization. Defines centralized triage and task for the remote RN team in conjunction with the Nursing Services Manager - RN. Focused on medical error reduction and patient safety oversight participates the IRC (Incident Review Committee) as a subject matter expert. Assists with support of QA and QI activities assigned to the nursing services team from the organizational QA and QI committee - part of the overall QSSR (Quality Satisfaction Safety Risk) structure at Clinica Family Health. Clinical Leader of Immunization Program and Committee activity. Partners with CMO in appropriate vendor relationships (i.e., Quest, vaccine vendors). Partners with Chief Operating Officer in relationship with after-hours triage vendor (i.e., Denver Health Nurse line). Works closely with CFH Quality Program to support quality initiatives. Supports fiscally responsible Nursing Services budget in conjunction with CMO and Chief Financial Officer. Leads other grant work as needed. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Education / Experience BSN or NP, Advanced Practice Nurse Valid license/DEA in jurisdiction of clinic, certification preferred as applicable. Minimum three years of clinical experience in ambulatory health care. One to three years' experience in leadership role, administration and clinical management preferred. Knowledge, skills and abilities: Ability to flourish in a team management system. Sensitivity to historically marginalized communities. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Excellent leadership skills. Ability to coach and provide effective and valuable feedback to nursing and MA team members. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with site and organizational leadership teams. Interacts with colleagues, team, and all staff in a professional and collegial manner.
