We are proud to be the first financial technology platform to combine consumer credit and global remittances. Our product solves the worst aspects of money transfer by empowering our customers to use credit rather than cash. At the same time, we help immigrants establish their financial future in their new country by building positive credit history with their existing remittance obligations and financially include their loved ones in emerging economies with access to modern financial instruments.

Your Role

The Director of Marketing at Pomelo will lead our marketing function and work to accelerate our growth, focusing primarily on the acquisition of new users in a social and community-first marketing model, with responsibility across the full stack of marketing: performance & media, brand & product, content & community, lifecycle & growth. We are looking for an experienced leader who is as passionate about performance as they are about creativity, who understands that the pathway to growth will come from a combination of sound business logic with creative thinking.

We are looking for a consumer marketer who is happy as both a player and a coach, who wants to be in the data, and also in the comments on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have the elasticity to stretch from the most executional detail to the biggest strategic challenge. They will be responsible for building the marketing function as we grow, partnering closely across product, support and engineering functions, comfortable being a central player, collaborative in nature, doing whatever it takes to help Pomelo grow.

Required Qualifications
  • 8-10 years of marketing experience, with a mix of functional roles (product marketing, social media, brand, media, growth, agency)
  • 5 years of management and hiring experience
  • Proven track record of using data analytics to drive marketing strategies and decision-making
  • Deep understanding of customer needs, preferences, and behaviors
  • Ability to think strategically and provide leadership in developing marketing plans and strategies
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to integrate marketing efforts with overall business objectives
  • Passion for excellence in marketing execution and brand representation
Nice to Haves
  • Fintech, consumer finance, or banking a plus but not required
  • Language or cultural experience with Filipino, LatinX or other immigrant communities.
  • Experience at startups or scale-ups companies
Pomelo takes a market-based approach to compensation, offering equity and a base salary as part of the compensation package. The estimated base salary range for this role is $180,000 - $210,000 per year. Exact compensation may differ from this range and depends on the candidate's experience, domain expertise, and interview performance.
