Department Summary Kripalu Schools develops and delivers transformational professional certification trainings, on campus and online, to hundreds of students each year and holds significant responsibility for mission impact and financial sustainability of the organization. The Department includes the Kripalu Schools of Yoga, Integrative Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda and Mindful Outdoor Leadership. Position Summary This Director position for the Kripalu School of Integrative Yoga Therapy (KSIYT) is the vision holder of the School, and responsible for strategy, overall performance and oversight of administration and personnel who support the School's operations. This includes the planning of the programmatic calendar each year, marketing, admissions and enrollment, faculty and staff management, and budget management. There will also be activities relating to curricula development, liaising with professional associations and student relations. Some teaching duties will also be required but secondary to the leadership of the school. Schedule This role is permanent and part-time at 20 hours per week. Start date is April 1, 2024. Hours require self-management and flexibility, with some night and weekend availability during trainings. This role will ideally be on-site but remote/hybrid arrangement is possible with regular visits to campus. Skills and Experience IAYT certified Yoga Therapist, ideally trained in the Kripalu methodology. Knowledge of Ayurveda preferred. Minimum five years of supervisory experience in education, training, or related field, including faculty and student management, program development and marketing. Experience with financial management, budget tracking and administration. Proficient computer skills including MS 365, advanced Excel and data management, online learning platforms and digital communication tools. Leadership experience with a hybrid team and remote staff. Adaptable in new and complex situations resulting in successful performance. Possesses strong core ethics, integrity and values consistent with Kripalu's organizational principles. Accountabilities Overview: Collaborate with Kripalu Schools Dean, Manager, and Schools Directors to deliver an integrated Kripalu curriculum. Successful administer the delivery of 800-hour professional yoga therapist program, 300-hour advanced teacher of therapeutic yoga, as well as Continuing Education programs. Lead KSIYT faculty and staff with clear communications and direction. Resolve student issues and concerns efficiently and effectively that escalate to Director level. Work with Dean on overall financial performance of the School, including setting budgets, faculty payment standards, projections, and tracking enrollments, marketing efforts and training / departmental expenses. Ensure school hits performance targets and margins. Update curriculum with Dean and Chief Learning Offer, KSIYT faculty, other School Directors and strategic partners across Kripalu departments in accordance with strategic plan and IAYT competencies. Provide a strong in-classroom presence, as schedule allows, to support content integration. Lead school in alignment with organizational equity goals. Program and Curriculum: Collaborate on yearly program calendar and schedule faculty assignments according to organizational timelines, with support from Academic Coordinator, Schools Manager and Dean. Ensure that KSIYT is offering a high-quality yoga therapy curriculum aligned with evolving professional standards in the field of yoga therapy. Ensure that curriculum, faculty, and school follow the International Association of Yoga Therapists standards / competencies and Kripalu methodology. In collaboration with Chief Learning Officer and Dean, develop new ideas for continuing education programs, and assess any 'off-the-hill' partnership or educational opportunities. Oversee updates to printed materials and student/staff manuals. Oversee mentored practicum, managing mentors and working with Academic Coordinator to support students in the module as needed. Faculty and Staffing: Maintain, develop and find efficiencies with faculty body as needed. Train and supervise all school specific faculty. Schedule and oversee regular planning and check-in meetings with Academic Coordinator, Schools Manager and Dean. In collaboration with People + Culture Director, support corrective action for any faculty issues and properly document process. Teach within the school to stay current with classroom, student management issues/needs, faculty and student relationships, and for curriculum oversight. Teaching Duties as needed: Training sessions that need coverage and are aligned with expertise. R&R workshops, KEPs, Kripalu Online Studio, staff trainings. Lectures on Yoga Therapy within Kripalu Schools. Student Management: Work with Kripalu Schools staff to ensure fair and systematic student admissions process. Advise on any prospective student questions that can't be answered by front office staff or Academic Coordinator. In consultation with staff and faculty, conduct formal and informal assessments of student satisfaction. Meet with students as needed to resolve individual or group issues, both during and outside of KSIYT program dates. Licensing and Certification: Stay informed of IAYT accreditation requirements to steer curriculum, faculty and school management. Keep staff and faculty current with IAYT and Yoga Alliance regulations and standards. Plan for changes to program content required by accreditation mandates and changing professional standards. Marketing: In coordination with Dean of Kripalu Schools and Academic Coordinator, conduct regular review of print and web-based marketing content and oversee updates as necessary. Work with Marketing and Schools staff to contribute to marketing plans for KSIYT - quarterly round-ups, outreach to alumni, email campaigns, social media content.
