We are seeking a seasoned Director of Infrastructure to lead our platform engineering team and drive the scaling of our infrastructure to support our aggressive growth targets. This role requires a strategic leader with hands-on technical skills, proven experience scaling infrastructure in high-growth environments, and a solid ability to lead and inspire a team.
What you will be doing:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for scaling our infrastructure, ensuring it supports our growth targets while maintaining high reliability and performance.
- Lead and manage a team of 5-10 infrastructure engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Design and execute a comprehensive infrastructure roadmap, communicating effectively with the CTO and leadership team to align infrastructure developments with company goals.
- Establish and oversee the performance measurement systems for the team, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative metrics to ensure team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain hands-on involvement with the team's projects, providing guidance and expertise where necessary while delegating effectively to promote team autonomy and growth.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to understand their needs and ensure the infrastructure supports all aspects of the business.
- Uphold and advocate for a servant leadership approach, putting team needs first and supporting their development and success.
What we are looking for:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- At least ten years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a people leadership role within a high-growth technology company.
- Demonstrated experience scaling infrastructure for a SaaS company during significant growth phases.
- Expert knowledge of modern infrastructure technologies and architectures, cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and security best practices.
- Strong project management skills and proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a successful cross-departmental partnerships track record.
- A strategic thinker who can dive deep into technical details when necessary.
