Position Overview:
The Director of Financial Planning is a pivotal role at Larson Financial Group, responsible for enhancing our client offerings by integrating sophisticated financial planning services and alternative investment strategies for high-net-worth investors. The role demands a proactive, knowledgeable individual who can liaise effectively between clients, advisors, vendors, and the firm's leadership to deliver exceptional service and innovative financial solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Strategic Development of Financial Planning Services:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive financial planning service model tailored for high-net-worth clients that can be implemented, at scale, across our advisory groups.
- Through partnership with our alternative investment arm, Larson Capital Management, integrate alternative investment strategies into the financial planning process, ensuring a holistic approach to wealth management.
Advisor Training and Support:
- Conduct regular training sessions for advisors on the latest financial planning techniques, incorporate the newest tools and alternative investment opportunities.
- Provide ongoing support to advisors, enhancing their ability to deliver bespoke financial planning services to clients.
- Operate as the Subject Matter Expert in the strategies and tools of financial planning.
Client Engagement and Relationship Management:
- Assist financial advisors in preparing and presenting financial plans for clients that have +$5M Investible Net Worth.
- Engage with high-net-worth clients to understand their financial aspirations and tailor financial planning strategies accordingly. Ensure that our suite of services is designed to support the growing base of high-net-worth clients.
- Foster strong, trust-based relationships with clients, ensuring their financial objectives are met and exceeded.
Platform Monitoring and Reporting:
- Regularly review and analyze the effectiveness of financial planning services and tools, making data-driven decisions to continually refine and improve our offerings.
- Ensure transparent and consistent communication of financial planning strategies and outcomes to stakeholders.
Success KPIs/Metrics:
- 3 months: Formalizing The Larson Way for Financial Planning. Completion and approval of a comprehensive financial planning service model, including alternative investment integration into investment allocation models.
- 6 months: Preaching and Teaching The Larson Way. 90% of advisors/planners trained in new financial planning techniques and alternative investment strategies.
- 12 months: Provide support to 25% of +$5M Investible Net Worth investors through the Schwab Advisor Network
Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years' experience in the Financial Planning field
- CFP a plus
- Four-year degree or equivalent work experience
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Salesforce
- Proficient data entry skills
- Flexible schedule for meetings and client events
- Ability to prioritize deliverables, track deliverable progress, and follow up on outstanding matters is required
- Ability to manage time in an efficient, self-directed manner is required
- Ability to be proactive and professionally assertive is required
- Strong interpersonal EQ and teamwork skills including demonstrating positiveness in conduct, verbal, and written interactions is required
- Ability to adhere to rules and regulations as stated and required by Advisors and FINRA is required
