Position Overview
Be a part of a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities through consumer-directed advocacy and services. As the Director of Finance, you will collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure the organization's financial well-being, managing day-to-day operations in the fiscal department while overseeing a team of accounting professionals.
Responsibilities
Finalize the monthly closure of financial records, including crafting journal entries and digitizing relevant documents into QuickBooks
Assist in performing variance analysis on the monthly P&L
Compile the financial package distributed to the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for various funding bodies
Handle Grants Management processing and Billing for reimbursement purposes
Manage reports on Deferred Revenue amortization
Assist in posting journal entries, collaborating with fellow members of the Fiscal team
Allocate Administrative costs to respective Programs
Maintain schedules for fixed assets, leased equipment, amortization, and prepaid expenses
Monitor schedules for long-term debt and lines of credit
Provide support for Payroll, Billing, and Accounts Payable functions
Facilitate the annual audit process by preparing schedules and ensuring account accuracy
Print monthly Journal entries report for CFO approval
Review and approve all Bank reconciliations
Contribute to the preparation of the annual Consolidated Fiscal Report (CFR) and annual Medicaid Cost reports
Assist in crafting and managing budgets, operational reports, and cash flow projections
Collaborate with the CFO in developing and implementing policies
Attend Board or Finance Committee meetings on behalf of the Fiscal Department
Supervise Staff Accountant, Bookkeeper & Fiscal Grant Administrator
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting coupled with 4+ years of experience in the field
CPA/MBA a plus
Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
Experience overseeing 4 to 5 employees
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical skills
Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, budgeting, and General Ledger management
Non-Profit experience, a plus
Public accounting background is advantageous
Compensation
Salary: $80,000-$90,000
