Wells College seeks qualified applicants for the position of Director of Facilities. This position provides leadership and management of all facilities hiring, training, and scheduling of staff: office, custodial, trades and grounds; general oversight of the facility department, be the lead individual interacting with internal and external constituents concerning general maintenance issues. To insure a clean, healthy, and safe environment on campus for residents, faculty, staff, and visitors. Duties include but are not limited to: Supervise Assistant Director and support/mentor their teams of technicians, grounds, and housekeeping staff Set goals and objectives for each area and develop work plans to achieve them Provide field supervision for all general facilities maintenance and repairs as needed Work with vendors for optimum savings and service Ensure supplies are ordered and distributed as needed Work with campus departments regarding special events and regular campus functions Prepare and manage office budgets Set team priorities while balancing preventative maintenance and project work into daily operations Keep current on State and Federal regulations to ensure the College is compliant Prepare required State and Local reporting annually Required qualifications: Bachelors' degree and at least 3-5 years previous supervisory, general facilities management and scheduling experience. Successful candidate will possess the ability to motivate and offer direction; excellent supervisory and scheduling skills; strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Computer literate. Extensive knowledge of products and procedures for custodial and grounds maintenance Must possess a valid NYS driver's license with no current moving and/or convictions. Ability to work independently with little supervision, perform multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines. Must be able to handle emergency situations in a professional manner and be available on-site when needed.
