Job Description: The Director of Engineering and R&D will play a pivotal role in shaping the vision and direction of product development at Client. Reporting directly to the VP of Sales and Engineering, the Director of Engineering and R&D will lead our engineering department and spearhead our product development initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a visionary leader, and a hands-on engineer with a proven track record of delivering high-quality, innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the engineering department and R&D team.
  • Collaborate with senior Client s management and Raptor Scientific s VP of Product Development to align engineering and R&D efforts with company goals and objectives.
  • Drive innovation and foster a culture of creativity and excellence within the engineering and R&D teams.


Team Management:

  • Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products and solutions
  • Establish clear goals and performance metrics for the engineering and R&D teams.

Product Development:

  • Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept to launch.
  • Work closely with the management team to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable products.

Research & Development:

  • Drive innovation through research and experimentation.
  • Identify emerging technologies and market trends to inform product development strategies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and experimentation within the R&D team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles, with a proven track record of delivering complex technical projects.
  • 5+ years of experience in research and development, preferably in electro-mechanical systems and/or portable automated test equipment.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in real-time embedded systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and technology.
